I am a 79 year old widowed woman of African descent. I was born and raised in Monrovia. I presently reside in a home that is on property purchased by my maternal grandparents in 1934. I am a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I attend Second Baptist Church in Monrovia. I am an active senior. I belong to C.E.R.T., am a MAP leader, Change Makers, Monrovia Duarte Black Alumni Association and a member of the Library Board.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am the oldest of five living siblings. I have large families on my mother’s and father’s side. Both of my parents were born in California.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am a registered nurse and and am currently working part-time at El Monte – Rosemead Adult School. I love the science – teaching the science and care of the human body.

I have lived in Monrovia all but 10 years of my life

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
To Kenya, Africa. I have a sponsored child there, and I have wanted to visit Africa.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Movie “To Kill A Mockingbird” and TV “Blacklish”
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Young and old people never stop learning. You can never have too much wisdom and knowledge.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I have never felt the desire to have a bucket list.
