My name is Dr. Stella Spicer Davis and I’m a native of Monrovia since 1949. I grew up on Route 66 with my parents, Enoch and Thelma Spicer, and seven siblings. I graduated from Monrovia High School in 1967. I graduated from the Apostle Frederick K. C. Price School of Ministry where I was licensed and ordained as a minister of the gospel. I established the Christian Cosmetology International Organization, which is a non-profit outreach to the Beauty Industry. I am a licensed Cosmetologist, and I retired from Paul Mitchell School as a Director and Salon Owner. I am also a licensed Real Estate Agent and Life Insurance Strategist for financial and retirement planning.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I am blessed with two daughters, Toni Golden, and Estée Davis. I have five millennial grandchildren: Doniven 30, James 29, Matthew 27, Jahde’ 25, and Madison 23, who are all college graduates.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My passion is prayer and teaching God’s word of salvation, healing and deliverance. To win souls into the Kingdom of God!
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
The Derby Restaurant and The Red Lobster.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I grew up in Monrovia and attended Huntington School, Clifton and MHS. I recently moved back to Monrovia to care for my 90-year old Mother Thelma Spicer Adams.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
My first Pastor was the late Reverend George Godfrey Bailey who led me to the Lord as a child at Second Baptist Church in Monrovia
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
The Continent of Africa to reconnect with my ancestors
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
The Color Purple is my favorite movie. I enjoy the 700 Club and Christian TV.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To visit Jerusalem, Israel, the Holy Land, to experience the presence of Jesus!

I enjoy Gospel artists: The Clark Sisters, Donnie McClurkin and Marvin Sapp
Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Live Oak Cemetery is where all my grandparents are buried. I am standing on their shoulders and the rich heritage they established after migration from Mississippi
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Dr. Betty R. Price, my Spiritual Mother. She and her late husband, Apostle Frederick K. C. Price, have made the most impact on my life and ministry.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love driving on Route 66. It reminds me of growing up with my five brothers and two sisters.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Living my best life of Christ with divine Health and Wealth.

I’ve always wanted to become a famous Singer.

The Amalfi Coast in Italy is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been!
