I like to innovate. In everything. Day-to-day life, chores, educating my kids, and, of course, technology. A product innovator at heart, I have in the course of my 30-year career innovated and developed 30+ software products in the mobile, web, and internet space and have 2 patents in identity verification.
I love adventure sports like hang gliding and flying. I enjoy tennis and am on the board of the Monrovia Tennis Club as Treasurer, having served as President for the previous 3 years. I also love writing and write the tech column in our local Monrovia Living magazine, as well as running the blog PaperCircuit.com.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have lived in Monrovia for over 20 years with my wife and two daughters.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am an entrepreneur and software engineer. In my 30-year career I have started four startups and worked for Fortune 500 companies like Yahoo, Belkin and LegalZoom. I love innovating and building products that are used by millions of people.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Peach Cafe, Taisho, Merengue and Basin 141.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We have lived here in Monrovia for 20 years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
My friend and neighbor, Bedford McIntosh, is the most interesting person I have met in our community.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to visit Brazil and enjoy the amazing culture and food there. I have never been south of the equator.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Seinfeld is my all-time favorite shows.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Make yourself financially literate at an early age. That is more important than knowing many other subjects in school.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To get a private pilot’s license and own a plane.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with Jerry Seinfeld at the Peach Cafe. He is such an inspiring creator.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love how walkable the community is and our quaint downtown with the Friday Farmer’s market.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself playing tennis at the Monrovia Tennis club and enjoying my beautiful backyard garden as I read all the books piled up in my study.

I like to cook, especially Sichuan food, and I’m an amateur mixologist.
